APHS held its first ever book day event where students got into the spirit of dressing up as their favourite fictional character, trade new and old books with each other along with attending fun booths held by the APHS SRC.
The SRC held a Marvel booth, anime booth, horror booth and a photo booth. All equally entertaining, fitting to a specific genre of fictional literature and illustrations! Book day allowed over 1000 APHS students get into the school spirit, exhilarated by the idea of being able to express their fondness for a specific genre (fandom).
The horror booth had amazing activities such as the 'maze' where students were to crawl under a dark maze, full of jump scares, screams and eerie music, hoping and praying they would make it to the other side without being too scared!
The Marvel booth had fun activities, including dodgeball where marvel heroes fought to see who was the strongest!
The anime booth allowed our students to purchase customised t-shirts of whatever fandom they wished along with games of charades, kahoot and making your own customized keychain was available at the anime booth! And the book swap held in the main quad allowed over 100 students share, swap and buy new, old, dear and near books from others.
Book day was seen as a success, as it allowed the student body along with all the teachers bond over their shared love of literature!
On behalf of the SRC, book day was one of the nearest and dearest events APHS has run.
